What!?!?
Food was okay, but as soon as you order anything with tuna in it, you get interrupted with, "you like tuna!?" and then get duped into buying whatever "fresh fish" came in that day. The "fresh fish" today was sea urchin, which did not look appealing. Tip of the day: bring a translator.

First timer
Went at early dinner on Saturday night with my wife and 10-year-old. There were spaces at the sushi bar, and one table large enough to seat our party and we were seated immediately. My wife ordered the Tempura Shrimp and Vegetable. The shrimp was actually panko coated and thus quite a bit more greasy than it needed to be. Also included were slices of sweet potato, squash, zucchini, taro, and a broccoli floret. I sampled the taro and broccoli and found them acceptable. Between my son and I, we split three rolls: a nightly special roll called the Black Pearl? that was essentially spicy yellowtail in the middle, strips of white tuna on top, and small black roe on top of that. It was tasty but, like all of the rolls, not particularly well assembled. The Naruto roll was as advertised, tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and avocado in cucumber. The fish was all very fresh but the cucumber slices were thick and uneven, leaving the roll prone to falling apart. The avocado was also very chunky relative to the other fillings. Finally, we had a rainbow roll. It was most typical and again, very fresh and tasty just inexpertly assembled. I had asked the server if they had uni (sea urchin roe) when I first ordered. She checked and verified that they did. Subsequently, another member of the staff came to inquire whether I wanted quail egg on my uni (which is often a variation), and I declined. A short time later, the same staff member informed me that they were out of uni. I really don?t mind if they were actually out, or, they determined it wasn't fresh. It was still much better than being served bad uni, which happened to us at Iron Chef shortly after they opened and we haven't gone back since as a result. The space is a little small, and it was warm. They had a fan circulating air near our table that made it a tad windy, but better that than too warm. The staff was friendly if uneducated (one non-server staff was heard saying that they actually served fugu since they had a fugu roll - he was corrected by the server who reminded him that they do not have a licensed fugu chef). That was entertaining. They are currently byob but have water, tea, and soft drinks. They said they were out of diet, however. On the whole, this was a generally good experience and I will try them again. They have a wide variety of non-sushi items on the menu and have free delivery. Also, they are currently running a 20% off special which was a nice, and unexpected bonus. They take Visa, MC, and Discover - no AMEX.
